Six young men between the ages of 19 and 22, residents of Monastir and Ussana, are the perpetrators of the attack that occurred yesterday near the migrant center. They were identified and reported by the Carabinieri of the Dolianova Company. The searches led to the recovery and seizure of several iron bars hidden in a car.
According to an initial reconstruction by the Carabinieri, the young Sardinians took revenge for some insults received from one of the Algerian migrants in a local bar . Thus, the small group of youths, apparently composed of eight people, reached the Algerians in two cars as they were returning to the CPA in Monastir: here they attacked with sticks, iron bars, bottles, and stones . They then fled.
The Carabinieri have launched an investigation and located the cars used in the punitive expedition . Only one young foreigner suffered visible facial injuries. The Carabinieri have increased security in the vicinity of the Monastir migrant center.
