Few men and few means and the penitentiary police , "in daily trouble", in Sardinia is experiencing a season of great difficulty. All of this, according to the Confederation of Penitentiary Trade Unions (Consipe), « thanks to a short-sighted policy of the prison administration and juvenile justice which», explains president Mimmo Nicotra, « have demonstrated that they are capable of resorting only to "buffer" measures in place of functional and structured choices, to deal with chronic emergencies".

A troubled situation which has not even benefited from the renewal at the top of the management: three of the six new directors, in fact, have already resigned .

«It was certainly not on the penitentiary administrative managers», adds the number one of Consipe, «that we had to bet to fill the "black holes" of Sardinia, compared to many institutions with 3-4 deputy directors with at least 25 years of experience service . What we are asking for again is the issuing of a service regulation", he concludes, "which provides operational autonomy to the commanders of the Corps' departments and incentives for the penitentiary police officers who serve in Sardinia".
