The preliminary hearing for the murder of Marco Mameli, a 22-year-old from Ilbono, killed in Bari Sardo on March 1, 2025, is underway before Paola Massidda, the preliminary hearing judge of the Lanusei court.
The sole suspect— Giampaolo Migali , 28—did not appear in court. The judge will have to decide whether to send him to trial.
After some procedural wrangling, the preliminary hearing judge rejected the defense's motion for annulment, which then requested a summary trial conditional on the hearing of expert witnesses. The judge reserved his decision on the request.
Marco Mameli's parents are in court, represented by lawyer Gianluigi Mastio. Outside the courtroom, a group of relatives of the murdered young man are present. Migali is represented by Francesca Ferrai and Maria Leonida Cadoni.
