It's been a scorching weekend on the front of suitable areas. The committees are mobilized and have already announced their intention to take to the streets . They will certainly do so today at 9:30 a.m. in Piazza del Carmine in Cagliari, as part of the first general strike against the Budget Law, primarily to represent the Sardinian rebellion against energy speculation. The initiative is preparatory to another large-scale demonstration in a symbolic location in the fight against the assault on the island. The Sardinian People's Movement will also be in the streets tomorrow against the wind turbines in Alghero. The rally kicks off at 3:30 p.m. at Porta Mare.
The land has been simmering with rebellion since the decree was published in the Official Gazette last weekend. "It's clear evidence that the state law is imposing itself, overriding our statutory autonomy, for reasons of overriding national interest," says Mario Rubanu of the Orgosolo committee. "Now I can only say that we're waiting for Pratobello24, the law with nearly 211,000 signatures sitting in some drawer on Via Roma and supposed to protect Sardinia from further speculation, to be approved by the Regional Council. After all, it was known from the start that Law 20 was a jumble of hastily concocted "little ideas."
The demonstration will move from Piazza del Carmine toward the Council Chamber. "On Saturday, upon his arrival in Nurallao for official reasons, President Comandini found several banners awaiting him, reminding him of the 210,729 signatures of Pratobello24, which he had set aside in some closet," says Luigi Pisci of the Sarcidano Committee. "We will reiterate our call to him to bring Pratobello24 to the Council Chamber and, to all Sardinian politicians, to take action to block in Parliament the obscene energy bill that is taking away our lands and waters."
