The port system of Sardinia against computer crimes. The signing of a "Memorandum of Understanding" aimed at the "prevention and contrast" of "cybercrime" is scheduled today, at the Cagliari branch of the AdSP. of Cagliari, Paolo Rossi, and the manager of the Postal and Communications Police Department of Sardinia, Francesco Greco.

ACTIVITIES - Specifically in Sardinian ports, where the computer systems and telematic networks supporting the institutional functions of the AdSP are considered critical infrastructures of public interest, the joint action will aim to strengthen the activity already put in place by the Authority in recent years in the prevention and contrast of any form of illegal access aimed at the interruption of port services or the theft of data and information.

The defense activity will be made possible through continuous sharing and analysis of all information deemed useful to prevent and block any attacks. In particular, through specific communication channels with the Postal Police, the Cyber Security manager of the AdSP will be able to report any vulnerabilities, threats and incidents on the systems that could compromise the regularity of the telecommunication services in the port area.

In the first phase of cyber protection, it is essential to carry out an adequate joint awareness-raising activity on the risks of the network for all employees, while, for ICT managers, the protocol introduces the possibility of more in-depth configuration training secure networks and identify the origin of attacks.

"SENSITIVE OBJECTIVES" - "The protocol signed today with the Postal and Communications Police Department is a concrete and effective response in the fight against cyber crime - explains Massimo Deiana -. More and more often the maritime and port cluster is the object of dangerous cyber attacks which, in the complexity and vastness of the logistics chain, lead to real terrorist activities aimed at destabilizing the markets and economies of the countries ".

"Ports, like road, railway and airport infrastructures - continues Deiana - are today more than ever considered sensitive objectives both for the safety of passengers and operators, but also for the management of daily operations which, especially in island realities such as that Sardinian, can compromise the daily functioning of the airports and send haywire the movement of goods and people. For this reason, in this delicate and convulsive phase of global recovery, collaboration with the Postal Police becomes essential to prevent any action that could destabilize the country system ".
