The bad weather, the storm surges and the strong winds raging along the coasts of the municipality of Porto Torres have led Mayor Massimo Mulas to order the closure for the entire day of February 17th, unless extended, of all the city's parks, gardens, green areas and cemeteries.
The closure of parks and green spaces has been implemented to ensure public safety, given the forecast of strong wind gusts that could pose a risk of falling branches, plants, trees, and other debris. Residents are urged to follow self-protection measures and avoid areas exposed to the wind.
"It is important," it is specified, "to also pay attention to driving, especially on vulnerable road sections." The Municipal Civil Protection Operations Center (COC) remains active, in its advisory capacity, to coordinate monitoring services during the alert period and to support the mayor in directing and coordinating any assistance and relief services for the population and any emergency response interventions that may be necessary. The COC will remain active for the duration of the alert and adverse weather conditions.
