The Christmas Miracle, now in its 39th year, took place once again on the Stairway of Solidarity. The city of Porto Torres responded to the call of those in need , doing so in an intense and well-attended day where dozens of volunteers donated their time and resources. A community present with its immense generosity.
From the early hours of the morning, packages of non-perishable food items began filling the steps of the Basilica of San Gavino , a tangible sign of widespread and shared solidarity. This achievement was also made possible thanks to the pre-collection days, which contributed significantly to the initiative's success.
Numerous organizations were present throughout the day, coordinated by Gavino Ruiu, who was able to operate thanks to the support of the city schools; the ASD Moving Soul, which enlivened the afternoon with a dance performance in front of the Basilica; the Vespa Club Association; the Turris of Road 4x4 association with its off-road vehicles, protagonists of the closing ceremony; the San Gavino Restaurant, which warmed and refreshed the volunteers with mulled wine and pizzas; and the Piazza Garibaldi pizzeria, which provided additional pizzas.
"I would like to thank the local volunteer organizations that collaborated in organizing and managing the event—Caritas, Anteas, Vincenziane, Consulta del Volontariato, Scouts, Pro Loco, Rotaract—and all the volunteers whose dedication and dedication made this day possible," said Gavino Ruiu. "But above all, thanks go to those who donated, participated, and contributed. I would also like to add that we will have a lot of work to do to better engage young people in this initiative, including through schools, because this experience helps us grow and truly understand the needs of people in need."
