Moments of panic, shortly after noon, due to an accidental double fall in via delle Vigne in Porto Torres, in front of the access steps to the Conad supermarket.
Injuries and bruises on the face, trauma to the neck and bruises to the hands for a 77-year-old woman, a local resident, who fell tumbling to the ground after tripping over one of the bumpy sidewalks while on her way to the market.
The accident, which happened this morning, is yet another in the pedestrian crossing where there are a high number of "victims" of an obstacle course. The woman rescued by the 118 health workers was rushed to the Santissima Annunziata emergency room in Sassari where she is hospitalized for a series of investigations. The old lady tumbled to the ground after bumping into a deteriorated segment of the pavement, violently banging her face on the pavement, now in poor condition.
Almost concurrently there was also another accident, again in the market area, in the bumpy steps leading to the supermarket: another person fell and was rescued by the doctors who attended. Local police officers who carried out the surveys were also on site.
"At the same point, some time ago, a cousin of mine also fell - says the son of the 77-year-old wounded - who four months after the incident is still recovering from the consequences".
