The "Andrea Parodi" municipal theater in Porto Torres opens on Saturday, January 10th at 8:30 pm for the presentation of "Li Curombi," a Sassari comedy in two acts by Mario Olivieri and Ennio Faedda.
The story of a Sassari street cleaner's family who discovers their son's homosexuality, madly in love with his "man." After initial uncertainty, the family accepts the "marriage," with all that entails. Despite the subject matter, which is treated with great respect, the comedy is for everyone and provides two hours of heartfelt laughter. Written in 1983, it remains highly relevant today. A hilarious comedy that alternates twists and turns and family conflicts, a succession of accusations, and an attempt to address the issue without prejudice.
The theatrical performance highlights irony and morality, a theme approached with the humor that characterizes Olivieri's art. The event, organized by the cultural association Compagnia Teatrale "La Quinta" of Mario Olivieri and Eleonora Denurra, is sponsored by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Porto Torres.
