He was arrested upon disembarkation at the Porto Torres port for violating a ban on leaving a town in Emilia Romagna.

As part of an operation to combat illicit trafficking organized by the Sassari provincial command of the Guardia di Finanza, officers from the Porto Torres company intercepted and arrested a fifty-two-year-old Italian man, accused of violating a judicial order. While vehicles were being disembarked from the ferry from Genoa, the financial police stopped a car carrying two people, who immediately began to show signs of agitation.

Suspicious of their behavior, the officers conducted further investigations and, with the assistance of the Sassari provincial command operations room, discovered that one of the two detainees had been subject to a travel ban from another province in Northern Italy. The judicial authorities ordered the suspension of the probation order and the arrest. The man was held in Bancali prison.
