Struck ill while fishing off the coast of the Gulf of Asinara , the Porto Torres Coast Guard responded this morning to perform a rescue operation for two fishermen who were sailing in the waters off the Pilo lagoon aboard a wooden fishing boat.

One of the two, a 50-year-old man from Sassari, complained of chest and arm pain, a risk of heart attack that required the immediate intervention of the Coast Guard's emergency vehicles .

The SAR CP 871 patrol boat reached the fishing vessel and transferred the man, who was subsequently disembarked at the dock of the Porto Torres Port Authority.

Once on land, the patient was entrusted to the care of 118 health workers, who transferred him by ambulance to the Sassari Civil Hospital for the necessary medical checks.

The rescue operation was carried out regularly thanks to the timely coordination between the Coast Guard and the 118 services.
