They're dirtying tables, chairs, and umbrellas, invading outdoor spaces, seriously endangering the establishment's reputation and health. Traces of excrement are everywhere in the bar in Piazza Garibaldi, one of the most popular in the heart of Porto Torres, and therefore among the most affected by the bird invasion. This unmanageable problem, given the aggressive presence of birds on the tables, poses a serious health and hygiene risk.

They contaminate every surface, forcing the owners to launch a major cleanup operation. This critical issue affects the decorum of public spaces. The bar owners are desperate. Pigeon and seagull droppings fill every corner of the outdoor space and risk ending up in coffee cups. "We pay €2,000 for public space tax, and every day we are faced with an unbearable odor due to the presence of guano everywhere. This unsightly condition translates into a loss of customers and additional costs for the cleanup we perform constantly," the owners complain. "That's why we are demanding an immediate solution, including the use of deterrents to scare away the pigeons, or intervention by pruning the trees."

A problem that has become a nightmare in recent months, especially when the sun comes out and the managers are forced to activate a rapid cleaning plan to be able to accommodate customers on the external veranda.
