Two French men were arrested in Porto Cervo, accused of conspiracy to snatch a woman's watch. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon, when one of the two thieves grabbed the woman's wrist and stole a Rolex. He then fled, attempting to reach a nearby car driven by his accomplice.

The victim's young daughter, noticing her mother being attacked, chased the mugger. Seeing himself nearly caught, the mugger threw away his watch and fled in the car driven by his accomplice. The victim immediately reported the vehicle's characteristics to the Olbia Carabinieri, who immediately began a search. The Porto Cervo patrol quickly tracked down and caught up with the fugitives' car along provincial road 59 and chased it for several kilometers . Feeling they had been caught, the two arrested men decided to abandon the vehicle and continue their escape on foot, among the rocks and surrounding vegetation.

Promptly pursued, they were both apprehended, assisted by patrol cars from the Porto Rotondo Carabinieri station and security guards from the Costa Smeralda Consortium, who quickly arrived to intercept the fugitives . Shortly after the incident, the woman filed a complaint with the Porto Cervo station and, following a photographic identification, identified the perpetrators. The two suspects were arrested and taken to Bancali prison, pending a validation hearing, as ordered by the Public Prosecutor at the Tempio Tribunal.

The operation is part of the ongoing efforts to combat this type of crime by the Carabinieri Territorial Unit of Olbia, which, on July 30, allowed the Operational Section to arrest three foreigners, held responsible for the robbery and aggravated theft of two tourists , as well as recovering and returning to its rightful owner a Patek Philippe watch , found in a residence in Olbia.
