Immediate trial for Mario Masala , the 38-year-old man accused of having deliberately run over and killed his neighbor , the pensioner Tonino Pirastru .

The events date back to July 3rd of last year and occurred in front of a condominium in Liscia di Vacca (Porto Cervo).

The Tempio Prosecutor's Office at the end of the investigations requested an immediate trial given the evidence collected against Masala. The charge is voluntary homicide, the man, originally from Sassari, would have settled the score with Pirastru by killing him.

There were very strong tensions between the two, because Masala's elderly neighbor had closed a shared passage with a gate. At the request of lawyers Giancarlo Frongia and Nicola Satta, house arrest was ordered for Masala last September.

The prosecutor in charge of the investigation is Milena Aucone, the victim's family is assisted by Elias Vacca and Ezia Orecchioni.

The trial will begin in April before the judges of the Court of Assizes of Sassari.
