Pizza boxes, plastic, and bottles: Calamosca wakes up among the rubbish.

An unsightly sight. This is what unfolded today at the entrance to Calamosca beach: a trash can overflowing with trash, and beer bottles, plastic, and pizza boxes littering the ground. This isn't an isolated incident; the fourth stop on Poetto was also strewn with trash yesterday .

This common problem arises after the recent overcrowding, when the coastline was overrun by thousands of people. Adding to the reckless dumping of waste is the fact that the municipality has not yet installed recycling centers.

The city administration had planned to bring forward the opening of the recycling centers from June to May. However, given the current situation, as announced by Urban Ecology Councilor Luisa Giua Marassi, they should be available by April.
