A manhunt is underway in Sassari to find the motorcyclist who, last night on his Suzuki V-Strom, hit and killed Massimo Oggiano, 54, who was crossing at the crosswalk on Via Rockefeller.

The impact was extremely violent. The rider fell to the ground after the impact. When he realized the gravity of the situation, he got back on his bike and fled.

The motorbike was found shortly afterwards in Via Principessa Mafalda di Savoia , a few hundred metres from the scene of the accident.

Local police officers know the identity of the driver and are on his trail. But so far, the perpetrator has managed to remain undetected.
