A tense hearing. Paolo Pinna made several statements today before the preliminary investigations judge in a complex and delicate face-to-face meeting . At the end, Judge Cristiana Argiolas validated the arrest and ordered the 42-year-old man, who last Thursday violently attacked his father, Giuseppe Pinna , leaving him no escape route, to be held in pre-trial detention.

However, transfer to a penal institution (or to a residence for the execution of security measures) will only take place after completing a course of psychiatric care.

Paolo Pinna, who has been receiving treatment at the Mental Health Center of the Local Health Authority (ASL 5) in Oristano for some time, needs continuous and adequate care more than ever at this stage. Already on the evening of April 9th, after the tragedy occurred in the house on Via Pischedda, the 42-year-old appeared exhausted and in shock. It is unclear what happened in the room when his father approached him, perhaps to administer some medication. Paolo Pinna's furious reaction certainly ended tragically: immediately afterward, he threw the screwdriver used to fatally stab his father to the floor and retreated to his room, locked in a silence filled with suffering.

The hearing was completely confidential. Nothing leaked of the 42-year-old's statements, and he was constantly guarded by the Oristano prison police and under strict medical supervision.

The investigation by the Carabinieri of the Macomer Company, led by Captain Giovan Maria Seu, and their colleagues from the Investigative Unit are continuing, even though the situation was clear from the very beginning.
