A request for indictment has been filed for the death of little Gioele Putzu, which occurred in Ozieri in September 2024: the 9-year-old boy from Olbia was crushed by the goalpost of a local soccer field.

The trial, on charges of manslaughter, was requested by prosecutor Maria Paola Asara of the Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office against the manager of the youth football club that was in charge of the facility.

The tragedy unfolded in just a few minutes: Gioele was playing with other children when he violently slammed into the door, which fell on him, crushing his chest.
