An 18-year-old man from Ozieri has been reported by the State Police for aggravated domestic violence. The incident occurred on the morning of June 15, when officers from the Ozieri Police Station responded to an argument that broke out in the town center between a courier making deliveries and several youths. One of the youths, a 17-year-old, attempted to flee upon seeing the patrol car. He was immediately stopped by the officers and subjected to further investigation.
The courier, driver of the van involved, a 35-year-old man, reported to operators that he had been approached and provoked by two young men while making deliveries to several local businesses. According to the reconstruction, the argument arose from a dispute over parking the vehicle and subsequently escalated to the point of damaging one of the vehicle's tires with a knife. A 53-year-old shopkeeper reported that the two young men, under the influence of alcohol, had come to her business insistently demanding beer.
After leaving, they allegedly returned shortly afterward, demanding more alcoholic beverages. Subsequently, while the courier was unloading the goods, the woman heard a noise suggestive of a slashed tire. During the investigation, the second young man involved, an 18-year-old, showed up at the scene and attempted to convince the courier not to proceed against him, while also offering to pay for the damage caused to the vehicle.
The same boy, following a search, was found in possession of two knives, one switchblade and one Swiss army knife, which were immediately seized. Further investigations ruled out the 17-year-old's liability in the damage phase, while the 18-year-old was charged at liberty with aggravated assault and damage and unjustified possession of offensive objects.
