Leonardo Carta, the former firefighter at the Enichem in Ottana, did not make it, overwhelmed on Tuesday by a motor hoe he was using while fixing the garden of his house on the outskirts of Olzai.

The 72-year-old had been rescued with the 118 helicopter and rushed to Sassari, where he was hospitalized in intensive care after an operation.

This morning his condition worsened until he died.
