Fighting tax evasion, illegal work, and drug trafficking. On the 252nd anniversary of the founding of the Guardia di Finanza, the Sardinia Regional Command took stock of its activities over the past year and a half, from January 2025 to May 2026. At the Satta barracks on Viale Diaz in Cagliari, the regional commander, Claudio Bolognese, listed the numbers and recalled the financial police's unwavering commitment on the island.

Among the most significant figures are those related to tax evasion. Specifically , nine international cases were discovered, involving a total evasion of over 118 million euros .

In the fight against drug trafficking, the Guardia di Finanza seized more than 24 tons of plantations (marijuana and cannabis), 185 kilograms of cocaine and heroin, 116 kilograms of hashish , reporting 191 individuals, 54 of whom were arrested, and reporting 603 people to the Prefects.

In total, approximately 27,000 interventions and approximately 2,000 investigations were carried out to combat economic and financial crime and criminal infiltration of the economy.

"The Guardia di Finanza's presence in the area is also important in the area of public outings. In the area of public damages, we have reported over €200 million in violations ," emphasized Commander Claudio Bolognese. "Compared to last year, we have seen an increase in activity," he added, "especially in the seizure of cannabis. There are significant interests of criminal organizations behind this, which is why we have intensified checks."
