Pietro Antonio Tolu, the fugitive from Oruno who has been wanted since last February and is also a defendant in the trial for Marco Raduano's escape from Nuoro prison, turned himself in to the Carabinieri last night.

Tolu turned himself in during the night to the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of the Operations Department of the Provincial Command of Nuoro, in the countryside of the Barbagia capital, in Marreri.

Tolu had been wanted since February 10th, when, concurrently with the Supreme Court's ruling sentencing him to four years and two months in prison and a €15,000 fine for drug-related crimes, he went missing. His absconding status was formally declared on July 3rd. From that moment on, the Carabinieri of the Nuoro Investigative Unit and the Bitti company began a relentless search, which also extended abroad in an attempt to locate him.

The search ended on the night of October 18, when Tolu spontaneously turned himself in to the military in the countryside outside Nuoro.

Following notification of the execution order for imprisonment, issued on February 12, 2026 by the Attorney General's Office at the Court of Appeal of Cagliari, Tolu was transferred to the Badu 'e Carros prison in Nuoro.
