She is the first woman to lead the provincial command of the Oristano Fire Department. Natascia Erriu, a native of Cagliari with a degree in mechanical engineering, arrived at the fire station on Via Del Porto ten days ago. She is very enthusiastic about the new experience and very pleased to be returning to Sardinia after her stint in Bergamo. "Sardinia is always Sardinia," she said. "I had a wonderful time in Bergamo, but returning home has a different feel. It will be a journey full of challenges, which I will face with full commitment and the goal of making a valuable contribution to the entire region, always serving the citizens, and aware that this goal can only be achieved through a collaborative spirit between organizations and institutions."

Having joined the large Fire Brigade family in 2008, she served in command of the Cagliari Fire Department for two years and in the Sardinia Regional Directorate for thirteen years, holding numerous positions, including head of the Relevant Risks Area of the Fire Prevention Office, the Forest Fire Prevention sector, the Training Office, and the "Remotely Piloted Systems" specialist unit, gaining a consolidated and in-depth knowledge of the area.

He has participated in routine rescue operations and in major local and national disasters, such as the Olbia flood (Cyclone Cleopatra), the earthquake in central Italy, the Bitti flood, and the Montiferru fire, as well as several search and rescue operations for victims under rubble, with the "Urban Search and Rescue Medium" team. "The firefighters' corps has evolved significantly over the years, and technology, with equipment such as remotely piloted aircraft, is crucial, both in managing fires and searching for victims."
