That courtroom has seen her as a protagonist many times, wearing her toga and displaying unparalleled professionalism in defending all her clients. Today, the courtroom of the Oristano Collegiate Court paused to remember Dina Mereu, a 55-year-old lawyer who succumbed to an incurable disease a month ago after years of courageous struggle.

It was her colleague Romina Marongiu, on behalf of the Oristano Bar Association, who remembered "a colleague and special person." The emotion was palpable in the courtroom, where Dina Mereu's husband and brothers , colleagues from the firm, numerous lawyers, and also the prosecutor Paolo De Falco, magistrates Marco De Crescenzo, Valerio Bagattini, Sara Ghiani, and Silvia Mascia, judges Carla Altieri, Serena Corrias, and Laura Sulis, sat in the front row. Preliminary hearings were interrupted by Federica Fulgheri, who interrupted her hearings for this special moment.

"In this beautiful and challenging profession, Dina always stood out for the generosity and humility that only the greatest are capable of. She taught me the unwritten rules that truly matter in the practice of law." On behalf of her colleagues at the firm—attorneys Angelo Serra, Piero Aroni, Paola Contini, Stefania Alfieri, and Annalisa Serra—Romina Marongiu remembered her commitment, sacrifices, and passion for what she did: "She was meticulous in studying the case and the trial, and knowledgeable in her subject matter. But she was also extremely human. Her greatest teaching was to understand and respect everyone, and above all, not judge, but ensure the client receives the best possible defense. Dina was cheerful and generous like few others , and even when she was struck by illness, she continued to work with a strength that was touching, approaching every hearing, every client, and every colleague as if it were a mission."
