It was reported by a drug-sniffing dog, part of the three canine units (two of which arrived specifically from Cagliari) used by the Guardia di Finanza of Oristano on the occasion of the Sartiglia. Thus began the intervention that led to the arrest of a 23-year-old young man, resident in Mogoro.

It happened yesterday in the multi-storey car park on via Foscolo, around 7pm, at the end of the pariglie . The drug-sniffing dog reported the young man who, at the sight of the soldiers, tried to escape and tried to get rid of the drugs by throwing them over the fence of a construction site there . But he was caught and stopped by the finance police, who also recovered what he had thrown: a package with 16 doses of cocaine, each weighing one gram.

Following the intervention, a search was carried out in the house of the arrested man, in Mogoro. There, "cutting" substances, a precision scale and material useful for packaging drugs of the same type as that already seized were found. In addition, doses of marijuana and some illegally possessed firearm cartridges were found. The entire material was seized .

In the morning in Oristano the summary trial took place, with the conviction of the twenty-three year old for the drug crime and for the illegal possession of ammunition. The intervention is part of the service to combat drugs, strengthened on the occasion of the Sartiglia: yesterday some young people were also reported, including three minors, for possession of narcotics for personal use .
