Oristano, overpass collapses: road closed and traffic at a standstill

First some rubble, then pieces of concrete collapsed on the Provincial Road at the entrance to Oristano. A very dangerous rain of material falling from one of the overpasses at the height of the Santuario del Rimedio raised the alarm: road closed and traffic entering from State Roads 131 and 292 was immediately diverted.
The report was made this evening, when some motorists risked being hit by concrete parts that were suddenly falling from the viaduct . Moments of fear: fortunately no accidents occurred, but the alarm was raised immediately. The fire brigade teams intervened on site, carrying out a thorough inspection and removing the unsafe parts and debris at risk of collapse. In addition to the fire brigade, local police officers and technicians from the Province also intervened.
After the checks, the decision was made to block traffic in the stretch of road under the overpass to avoid possible dangers to the many motorists who pass through every day to enter the city.
