A special jersey, without a number but with a powerful message: "Chiara lives". This is how the Silì football team, newly reconstituted after a long absence from the regional football scene, wanted to pay homage to the young fellow countrywoman killed by her mother two years ago, just on the eve of the Sartiglia .

On the fields of Sa Rodia, a moment of great emotion preceded the kick-off of the Third Category championship match between the white-celesti and Villurbana: to Piero Carta, father of the thirteen-year-old, managers and players donated the official uniform with the touching dedication and a bouquet of flowers. A symbolic gesture, accompanied by a long applause from the public, testifying to the fact that the memory of the girl is alive in the community.

The image of the young woman, tragically taken from life on February 19, 2023, was the backdrop to the ninety minutes of the match which, for the record, ended with a draw between the two teams (Gabriele Favalessa scored for the home team). "We wanted to make the town feel all the closeness to our fellow citizen," observed the president of the Siliese team, Massimiliano Sannia.

He, Piero Carta, remained in the stands to watch the match, grateful for that hug that certainly will not erase the pain, but perhaps will make it more bearable.
