The fight against plastic also involves university classrooms. In Oristano, a new alliance between institutions, academia, and volunteers is being formed with the aim of turning environmental awareness into concrete initiatives.

On World Environment Day, a collaboration agreement was signed between Plastic Free Onlus, the Municipality and Province of Oristano, and Consorzio Uno. The agreement aims to promote shared activities, environmental education projects, and direct student engagement in sustainability issues.

Among the new developments is Consorzio Uno's entry into the "University Network for the Plastic Free Environment." "Consorzio UNO confirms its desire to be an active participant in the project," explains Vice President Andrea Santucciu. "We will participate directly in Plastic Free's initiatives, involving students, faculty, and the entire university community."

For Provincial President Paolo Pireddu, "the fight against waste abandonment is a priority of our mandate," while Deputy Mayor and Environment Councilor Maria Bonaria Zedda calls the protocol "a concrete commitment to protecting the environment and the future of our community."

Plastic Free is also pleased. "Bringing together universities, local authorities, and volunteers means creating a network capable of generating concrete initiatives, raising awareness, and actively engaging in sustainability issues," emphasizes regional coordinator Maria Francesca Carone.

The goal is to create a stable collaboration between institutions, universities, and associations to strengthen environmental protection and, above all, raise ecological awareness among younger generations.
