Pietro Soro (82 years old), known as "Lillia", the last local bell ringer in the Church of the Assunta, passed away in the last few hours in Orgosolo .
Suffering from health problems, he overcame every obstacle, providing honorable service to the local parish community for decades, for which he was a point of reference.
«A dear and special person – says the parish priest Don Salvatore Goddi – always present on every occasion, proving to be a guide for entire generations. We will remember him in the service in the next few hours, with the embrace of the entire community."
Mayor Pasquale Mereu : «Pietro was a dear friend. Since we were children we have shared various initiatives, including those in Catholic Action. We are losing a symbol of the country , esteemed by all. Our thoughts are with the family members, to whom we are close."
The funeral will take place tomorrow, at 2pm, in the Parish Church of San Pietro.
