An initiative that intertwines devotion, tradition, and local traditions, refocusing on the value of walking as a spiritual and community experience. Sunday, May 17th sees the return of "Su Camin'e Santrujosci Obispu," the devotional and cultural trail through the villages of Gerrei, promoted by the Santrujosci Obispu association and the municipalities of Silius and Ballao as part of the "Sulle Vie di San Giorgio Vescovo" project. The day's route will connect Silius to Ballao, along a path with a difference in elevation of approximately 180 meters, immersed in the Gerrei landscape. This trail renews the bond between community and landscape through memory and shared participation.
The meeting point is set for 8:00 a.m. at the Church of Sante Perpetua e Felicita in Silius, where registration will be available. Departure is scheduled for 8:15 a.m., with an estimated arrival around 12:00 p.m. in Ballao, where pilgrims will be welcomed in the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena for the traditional stamping of their credentials. Participants will receive the Camino credentials, the official hat and scarf, a symbol of a journey that unites spirituality, nature, and Sardinian cultural identity.
