On Planu, dog area visitors were attacked by crows defending their chicks.

There were tense moments this morning in the dog park on Via Machiavelli in Su Planu, Selargius. The presence of a chick in the middle of the area, perhaps fallen from a tree, provoked a flock of crows to defend the little one. They attacked some people who were walking their dogs in the designated area. Someone tried to push the chick away but had to quickly flee as the other crows chased it.

From there, a flurry of phone calls began, trying to get assistance, given the danger the situation posed to public safety. After contacting the municipality and the barraccelli police to no avail, the firefighters immediately set out to assess the situation on-site. The presence of the chick, possibly injured, was preventing safe access for people and animals.

Just a few days ago, a woman was attacked by a crow in Sassari while exercising , and similar incidents have occurred in northern Italy, forcing people to seek emergency care. In Quartu, a gardener was attacked and followed home by the birds.

During this period, both crows and seagulls become very aggressive in defending their nests and chicks, posing a serious risk to people who often cannot even leave their homes due to the presence of birds on their terraces.
