The arrest warrant for the Olmedo man arrested recently for threatening a tobacconist in Ittiri with a gun has been validated in court in Sassari.

The person, unable to pay with his debit card, was convinced that he had been scammed by the merchant and pointed the gun at him before driving away in his own car.

The Carabinieri quickly identified the suspect and reached him at his home, where they found 1,465 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, 12 switchblades, and three blank-firing pistols without serial numbers, including the weapon shown to the tobacconist. Three other pistols and two air rifles, legally owned by the man, who held a gun license, were also seized at the time. During the hearing, the suspect, represented by lawyers Tiana Bortolu and Massimiliano Fadda, testified that he had never removed the gun from its holster and denied making threats. The judge confirmed the arrest and ordered house arrest.
