The 4-year-old boy, who ran away from his parents and was left in the sun in the family car, died last week in Olmedo .

Little Danir, of Moldovan origin, was first admitted to the intensive care unit of the Santissima Annunziata hospital in Sassari and then, on August 8th, transferred by helicopter to the Gemelli hospital in Rome, where, sadly, he died.

The Carabinieri investigation will continue to determine the cause of death, but heatstroke is not definitive. An investigation into the tragedy has been opened, and is now being handed over to the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office.

According to what was ascertained last Wednesday afternoon, the little boy, taking advantage of a moment of rest for his parents, had gone out

from home and when mum and dad noticed he was missing they looked for him and found him unconscious in their car parked under the scorching sun.
