A 19-year-old man, Giovanni Sale , was arrested by the Carabinieri on serious suspicion of the attempted murder of Carlo Boi after the fight that broke out yesterday morning in front of a bar in the centre of Oliena during the celebrations for San Lussorio.

The alarm was raised yesterday by the medical staff, who called 112 after having helped the 29-year-old injured with two stab wounds.

Soldiers from the Operations Section of the Nuoro Company's Norm and the Oliena station arrived on site, with the support of the Provincial Command's Investigative Unit.

The investigations launched immediately allowed the reconstruction of the incident and the rapid identification of the alleged attacker . According to the initial reconstruction, Sale pulled out a knife during the fight and struck his opponent twice, one in the abdomen and one in the groin , before running away. The victim was rushed to the Nuoro emergency room, where he was entrusted to medical care, but his life is not in danger.

The young man, accompanied by his lawyer , voluntarily presented himself to the provincial Carabinieri headquarters. After being questioned by the public prosecutor in charge of the case, he was transferred to Nuoro prison pending validation of his detention by the preliminary investigations judge.
