The story has been going on for years and this morning it came to the point. The mayor of Olbia , Settimo Nizzi, has filed a civil action in the trial opened in Tempio Pausania against the pharmacist Antonio Lupacciolu , who is charged with the crime of defamation. The facts date back to 2019 and concern dozens of photomontages and posts that appeared almost daily on a Facebook page.

Nizzi's lawyer, the lawyer Pietro Carzedda, after the appearance in court, gave the judge a statement with other posts published to date and considered defamatory. Judge Maria Gavina Monni and prosecutor Franca Cabiddu examined the material that will now probably enter the trial, but could also be the subject of a new investigation. In one post, a photo of Nizzi is commented with a reference to boss Matteo Messina Denaro . Nizzi and his lawyer declined to comment.

Also today, and always before the same judge of Tempio, the deputy Dario Giagoni, represented by the lawyer Salvatore Deiana, appeared as a civil party in another trial for defamation via social media .

The defendant was one of the pioneers of the Northern League in Sardinia and in 2019 he abandoned Salvini's party amid controversy. Now, Marco Michi, 70, from Sassari, is under accusation for the posts he allegedly published, according to prosecutor Franca Cabiddu, against Northern League deputy Dario Giagoni from Teresino. The relations between Giagoni and Michi concern the history of the League itself on the island. In early 2019, before the regional elections, other prominent exponents left Salvini's party, together with Michi.
