"No to Zionist tourism on the Island": the cultural association Sardegna Palestina takes to the streets in Olbia to protest against air links with Israel . With the cry of "Flights Tel Aviv - Olbia? Killers not welcome", the association, founded in 1997 to draw attention to Palestine and support it with international cooperation activities, has organized a demonstration at the Costa Smeralda airport on June 18.
«Privately booked direct charter flights will depart from Tel Aviv and will bring to Olbia many rich Israelis eager to relax on our island in the months of June and July while in the West Bank the violent annexation of Palestinian lands to Israeli settlers' settlements is accelerating, towns are being bombed and a genocide is being committed in Gaza », say the Cagliari association.
And they add: «A reinforced security protocol will allow Israeli police and security agents in plain clothes to work in Olbia, inspecting luggage and questioning passengers departing from Sardinia». To participate in the sit-in, Sardegna Palestina has organized departures from Cagliari, Sassari, Nuoro, Ogliastra, Arzachena and Tempio , inviting participants to carry peace flags and no party symbols.
