The lawyers protecting the Pintor family are asking for the compulsory indictment of six Anas executives. The case is that of Francesco and Matteo Pintor , two brothers aged 23 and 16, who died in the accident that took place on Christmas day 5 years ago along the Sardinian crossroads 129 Nuoro-Macomer, at the height of the stretch known as " the curve of death ".

At today's hearing in the Nuoro court , the lawyers Ivano Iai and Marcello Mereu presented their request before the investigating judge Giovanni Angelicchio , motivating the opposition to the dismissal request that had been formulated by the prosecutor Andrea Ghironi and instead requesting the compulsory indictment against the six suspects: Pasquale Ruggieri, Pietro Schirru, Valter Bortolan Enrico Atzeni and Siro Mascia, all managers of Anas, and Giovanni Satta, chief roadman.

In the alternative, an expert consultancy, which is added to the other two expert appraisals already carried out, in order to verify the positioning of the guard-rail against which the Pintor brothers' car had impacted, cutting it and transforming it into a powerful cutting blade, fatal for the two boys.

"We want to understand - said Iai and Mereu - what would have happened if the positioning of the guard-rail had been correct, if it had prevented the tragic event or if it had led to a less serious accident".

Prosecutor Ghironi instead insisted on the lack of a causal link between the tragedy and the responsibilities of Anas.

For the defence, represented by Matteo Pinna, Luigi Ledda and Andrea Pogliani, the state road was perfectly maintained . Not so for the Pintors' lawyers. "Anas - they pressed - intervened on the road to change everything only after the intervention of the #now enough association of Giovanni Pintor (brother of Francesco and Matteo who survived the accident, ed) to clamor for work on the state road scattered with crosses and bunches of flowers».

Giovanni is now 27 years old, and continues the battle for road safety. He was in court today. «It's time to change our mentality, it's time to make those who hold our safety on the road, and therefore our lives, responsible - he wrote in a post on social media - We have the right to travel on roads that don't kill. As much as we try to paint a vacuum of responsibility, the weight of the missed actions cannot be denied».
