Giovanni Maria Spiggia, the firefighter victim of duty who died two days ago in Parma after a year of agony, returned to his barracks in Nuoro for the last time.

Spiggia on August 11, 2022, called for an operation, fell in the Nuoro barracks from the flatbed of the truck he was preparing because he was to take him to Ogliastra for an operation where another team of colleagues was waiting for him.

Today his workmates awaited him in the house they shared for years, in their barracks from where they saved dozens of people day after day. Colleagues lined up with emergency vehicles paid homage to him and greeted with sirens on and flashing those that the policeman was also lighting on 11 August a year ago to do his duty. To accompany the coffin towards Orgosolo the Commander Antonio Giordano but also his wife Anna Grazia and the little ones Maria Luisa, Chiara and Antonella who embraced the body in front of the barracks.
