While the community of Nuoro remains in disbelief and in shock , asking itself “How could this happen?”, investigations continue unabated to clarify all the details – and above all the motive – of the massacre on Via Ichnusa .

THE MASSACRE – A massacre committed by Roberto Gleboni, 52, who yesterday morning killed his wife Giuseppina Massetti, 43, his eldest daughter Martina, 25, his youngest son Francesco, 10, and a neighbor Paolo Sanna, 69, with a legally held 7.65 caliber pistol. A bloodbath from which only the man’s 14-year-old son and his mother escaped, both wounded by the shots fired by the 52-year-old, who then took his own life.

THE SITE INSPECTIONS – The investigation is coordinated by the Nuoro Public Prosecutors Riccardo Belfiori and Sara Piccicuto, who work side by side with the investigators of the State Police and the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Nuoro. The investigators will return to the house on Via Ichnusa, and then move to Via Gonario Pinna, to the home of the elderly mother, who was hit in the head and is currently hospitalized in intensive care at the Nuoro hospital.

THE WITNESSES – Yesterday afternoon the investigators interviewed eight people informed about the Gleboni couple's situation, among relatives and friends of the family, to try to understand if there were any disagreements within an apparently peaceful family.

From what we understand, however, none of the neighbors or friends and relatives of the couple have ever noticed disagreements or situations of impending crisis. Nor were Giuseppina Massetti's family of origin aware of problems - her mother, father and two brothers - with whom the couple had however interrupted relations for years.

CELL PHONES AND PCs – The only person who knows what happened inside the apartment in Monte Gurtei yesterday morning could be the couple's 14-year-old son, the only survivor. The interrogations will continue today and the special units of the Police and Carabinieri will return to the homes where the massacre took place to recover other elements useful to the investigation. They are also delving into the recent past of the victims by checking their cell phones and computers.

TORCHLIGHT PROCESSION – Meanwhile in Nuoro a torchlight procession is planned to be close to the Gleboni and Sanna families which will take place tomorrow at 6 pm.

THE AUTOPSIES – Autopsies on the bodies of the five victims are scheduled for Saturday morning at the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari, performed by Professor Roberto Demontis and his students.
