All is ready in Nuoro for the visit of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella , expected this morning to officially inaugurate the Deleddian Year , marking the centenary of the awarding of the Nobel Prize in Literature to the Sardinian writer. A solemn ceremony is planned in the Eliseo Theater, attended by numerous students from various schools, from elementary to high school.

The celebrations will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the entrance of President Mattarella. After institutional greetings and the performance of the national anthem by students from the "Ferdinando Podda" Comprehensive School and the students from the Satta Music High School, the Mayor of Nuoro, Emiliano Fenu, and the President of the Region, Alessandra Todde , will address the occasion. This will be followed by in-depth discussions on Deledda's work by four speakers: Neria De Giovanni, Dino Manca, Stefania Lucamante, and Marcello Fois. The ceremony will conclude with a performance of the piece "Non potho reposare" by the students from the music high school.

At the end, a small delegation composed of the mayor, the president of the Region, the prefect Alessandra Nigro, and the president of the Province Giuseppe Ciccolini will accompany President Mattarella to the birthplace of Grazia Deledda, in the historic district of San Pietro, for a guided tour of the house museum.

The entire city center is under lockdown : according to the security plan, traffic and parking were banned in various streets as early as 2 p.m.
