Following the accident that occurred yesterday morning in Via Trieste, where a 15-year-old student was hit on the pedestrian crossing right in front of the entrance to the Liceo Classico “Giorgio Asproni”, the opposition group SiAmo Nuoro sent a formal letter to the mayor Emiliano Fenu , to the council, to the Municipal Police Command and to the entire city council, asking for urgent interventions to make the area safe .

In the letter, SiAmo Nuoro expresses deep concern about the dangerous conditions of that stretch of road , which has already been the scene of similar incidents in the past, and underlines that a structured intervention to protect the students and citizens who cross Via Trieste every day can no longer be postponed.

Urgently requested measures include the installation of an on-call traffic light, speed bumps, and more visible signage, as well as a permanent presence of the Municipal Police during student entry and exit times.

"We trust that the Administration will follow up on this request with urgency and responsibility," the group writes, "out of respect for the safety of our students and the entire school community."

The incident has refocused attention on a long-standing and frequently reported problem. SiAmo Nuoro hopes that, this time, words will be followed by action.
