The tragic accident that cost the life of Nicola Atzori, a twenty-year-old from Ghilarza, occurred a few kilometers from the town .

Just before 2 a.m. last night, a Volkswagen Tiguan carrying four young friends, returning from a party in a town in central Sardinia, lost control on a curve , hitting first the guardrail and then a tree. The car overturned.

Unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done for Nicola Atzori; the other three occupants of the car were rushed to hospitals in Nuoro and Oristano.

Nicola had finished his studies and was now looking for a job. He loved basketball, a sport he played regularly . There was shock and grief in his hometown and surrounding towns.

The Municipality of Ghilarza has decided to cancel the scheduled events as a sign of condolences and closeness to the family .
