Sardinian prisons are a hub for organized crime, distributing electronic devices, drugs, and, even worse, messages from the outside to inmates . This is according to the operation coordinated by Tempio Pausania prosecutor Sara Martino , which concluded with the arrest of four people, likely minor figures in a well-organized nationwide network.

The targets of the "postmen" organization are now the prisons of Nuchis (high security, AS3), Bancali and Nuoro (41 bis) . Alarming facts, just as there is talk of the transformation of Sardinian penitentiaries into institutions "dedicated" to the 41 bis regime.

The precedents

In April 2023, prosecutor Sara Martino coordinated a surprise operation in the Nuchis prison. Prison police raided a cell and, after dismantling a toilet, found several smartphones. Ciro Contini, the Forcella clan leader, according to the DDA, linked to the "Paranza dei Bambini" (Children's Gang), was in that cell and had always managed to maintain contact with the outside world in the past. And there was also the case of members of the Adrano (Catania) clan who allegedly ordered murders from Nuchis using the phones .
