"We are more than willing to welcome organizations and associations that can cheer up our patients with their initiatives. But the proposals must be clear and transparent: if we said no there is a reason."
The director of Businco Maria Teresa Addis does not add anything else, but she makes it clear, when she explains the reasons that led to not accepting the request of the Aortas Apertas association, which had asked for the availability of the hall and corridors of some lanes to bring some artists as part of the “Christmas at Businco” initiative.
The proposal was rejected and the response from the hospital's top management had triggered the stance of the vice president of the regional council, Giuseppe Frau, who works as a doctor outside the building on via Roma: the PD representative had spoken of an "incomprehensible" decision.
Instead, there are reasons, according to Addis. She prefers not to add any more elements to avoid fueling further controversy. The doctor adds only that «patients are at the forefront of our thoughts, even when we receive proposals for events and entertainment. We were also very happy to be able to make a piano available in the atrium. Furthermore, what is performed in the dedicated room, through an ad hoc system, can also be seen by those who cannot move from the rooms. In the case of Aortas Apertas, with a considered decision, we preferred not to grant authorizations».
