No 118 on the Sardinian coasts: «Areus hasn't activated the service yet, what is the Region doing?»

The hot season of arrivals has begun, tourists are already crowding the tourist resorts throughout Sardinia « but Areus has not yet published the resolution assigning the summer locations» of 118 «to the voluntary organizations and affiliated cooperatives, leaving the territories deprived of the emergency health service".
The regional councilor of Sardegna 20Venti Alberto Urpi, who signed a question with his colleagues Stefano Tunis and Antonello Peru, raised the problem in front of the President of the Region Alessandra Todde and the Councilor for Health, Armando Bartolazzi.
In asking the representatives of the Council what they intend to do to fill the void, Urpi lists further critical issues , such as «the one recorded every summer and also in recent weeks in Cala Gonone, where the 118 rescuers intervene at sea, night and day , with their own vessels not covered by the Areus agreement". And again «in Cagliari in the Marina district, where the use of the rescue motorbike has not yet been authorized by Areus, despite the work in progress making the use of ambulances impossible for some health events».
Then there is the emergency "recorded in Burcei, where an entire municipality has been complaining for years about the absence of a 118 hour 24 hour service seven a week while the local service, i.e. Sinnai, at a 25 minute time target, is burdened by additional tourist load and therefore often unavailable for requests arriving from Burcei". Furthermore, Urpi continues, "among all the summer locations, the coastal ones in the Middle Campidano struggle to be assigned, thus leaving tens of kilometers of coastline and thousands of citizens and tourists without emergency services."
