Almost everyone spent the night at Split airport: it was impossible to find a hotel for all 177 Sardinian pilgrims who were in Medjugorje and who last night could not find the plane that was supposed to take them back to Cagliari to return to their homes. The Cagliari agency Weddell did everything possible to minimize the inconvenience caused by an international charter service, regularly paid for, that did not find the plane. Now everything seems to be resolved: the Split-Elmas flight with the 177 Sardinian faithful will leave tonight at 7:45 p.m.
It was a difficult night due to the presence of some people with health problems, elderly people and children. Also in this case the Cagliari tour operator made itself available to find a bed in a hotel near Split: some faithful accepted but many remained at the airport, using cardboard boxes as a mattress.
Now the faithful and the travel agency itself will evaluate the legal procedures to follow given what happened. Meanwhile at 19:45 a plane will take off from the Split-Castelli airport for Elmas putting an end to the nightmare return journey for the 177 Sardinian pilgrims.
