The countdown is on for the new territorial continuity model, which will begin on March 29th. Regional President Alessandra Todde and Councilor for Transport Barbara Manca highlight the changes compared to the past. "What matters to us is that Sardinia is more open and accessible for those who live here and for those who want to travel to and from the island, with more options than in the past," says the president. "We'll see how this model works, which is certainly not perfect, and there's still a lot that can be done. But I'm satisfied with the relationship we've developed with the European Commissioner."
The new model, which will begin March 29, provides discounted connections from the Sardinian airports of Cagliari, Alghero, and Olbia to Rome and Milan . "Depending on the route, there will be a reduction of 10-15 euros per ticket, also improving the travel experience," notes Councilor Manca. "The new model meets a whole series of needs that weren't present in the previous territorial continuity: we have more frequencies and we've lowered the cost. We're confident it will be a far better service than what we had before."
Among the critical issues, related to the current war in the Middle East, President Todde reassures: "Changing the tariffs, which are guaranteed for two years, would mean having to resume negotiations. No increases are planned due to fuel costs; we are protecting the Sardinians' right to mobility ."
