Sunbathing without a swimsuit resulted in a hefty fine. A few days ago, two nudist couples had a nasty experience when they were intercepted during a police check. The news has been circulating on social media for days, and now the individuals involved want to address it clearly.
"As former visitors to the Is Arenas naturist area, officially authorized by the Municipality of San Vero Milis, we decided to abandon it due to the murky environment and the unusual behavior that had developed there, completely alien to the philosophy and tranquility of true naturism," they say.
"Moving toward Is Arenas, we noticed several bathers happily undressing. Asking for information from those already there," the explanation goes, "we were assured that Is Arenas was also a tolerated naturist area and free of problems. Seeing so many naked people, we trusted their advice and set up our umbrella in complete good faith. During a stroll along the shoreline, we were approached by three plainclothes officers from the nautical department, who identified themselves by showing their ministry badges."
Currently without any personal documents, "we immediately and transparently provided our personal details to the officers, allowing for our rapid identification with complete peace of mind and without any disruption. The charge concerns only an administrative offense and not a criminal complaint or offense. The fine was imposed pursuant to Article 726 of the Criminal Code, for acts contrary to public decency. We were charged solely for being present without clothing outside the perimeter expressly authorized by the Municipality of San Vero Milis. The order requires each of us to pay a reduced amount of the substantial fine of €3,333 each, for a total of over €6,600, to be paid within a strict 60-day period from notification."
