Those who live there know it well: getting to Sardinia is not easy. Even NATO is convinced of this. And they say it in a video published by the allied command of Naples, which led the gigantic Noble Jump 2023 exercise which took place until May 14 at the Capo Teulada shooting range.

«Why Sardinia? It is not an easy island to reach. A great test for NATO's logistical capacity. If we can bring troops and equipment to Sardinia, we can take them anywhere."

This is the message that stands out as the images scroll by of the great mobilization that brought the troops of seven nations of the Alliance to train in maneuvers with Leopard 2 tanks, Stinger missile launchers and Tiger attack helicopters.

Not all the armies that participated in those maneuvers left Sardinia. The Norwegian soldiers remained. And uniforms of other colors and nationalities have been added, because another exercise, Joint Stars 2023, is underway - and is nearing completion - involving over 4,000 men and women and about 900 land, air and naval assets.
