One dead and one seriously injured: this is the toll of the tragic fatal accident that occurred during the night, just before one o'clock, on the old State Road 125 in the Muravera area.

The two were traveling on a Yamaha RJ07 600 motorbike. They arrived from San Giovanni. According to an initial reconstruction by the carabinieri of the Aliquota Radiomobile of San Vito , the vehicle lost grip on a curve, taken at high speed, slipped for many tens of metres, then crashed into the base of a road sign and ended the race in a field.

The passenger, Simone Pisu, 30 years old, from Muravera, suffered serious injuries and died on the spot at 1.50 am, despite resuscitation attempts by the 118 rescuers . The possibility that he was traveling without a helmet cannot be ruled out.

The driver, a forty-eight year old also from Muravera, was initially transported to San Marcellino and subsequently transferred to Santissima Trinità in Cagliari. Currently, his life is not in danger.

The motorbike was seized and entrusted to roadside assistance.

Toxicological tests will be carried out on the driver. The judicial authority ordered the removal of Pisu's body and the return of his body to his family.
